SUMMARY:Parish Listening Session – Director of Music
DESCRIPTION:As part of the process for hiring our next director of music\, we will host a parish listening session at 9:15 am on October 6th in Crawford Hall. We are seeking input from the congregation to inform the drafting of an updated job description for the role. Questions we are seeking input on include: \n\nWhat should the scope of the role be beyond the requirements of planning liturgical music\, directing the choir\, and serving as organist?\nWhat role should the position play in outreach\, fellowship\, and other pillars of parish life?\nWhat could this position do that we are not currently doing and how will that enrich our faith community?\n\nThe listening session will be hosted by vestry member Michelle Ackerman and co-treasurer Darren Cooper\, who\, along with vestry member Anne High and Reverend Beth\, are leading a workgroup to discern the future of the director of music role at Calvary. Please come with your ideas and aspirations for the director of music role. Your input is crucial and we look forward to hearing from you.

DESCRIPTION:It’s time for Calvary Scones\, Stones\, and Halloween Bones\, a.k.a. Eat\, Compete\, and Dress Up! \nFall is in the air\, and it is time for Calvary’s Annual Stone Throw. Legend has it that ownership of Calvary’s corner lot rested on a bet made by George Head\, Rochester’s first mayor\, and Henry Benjamin Whipple\, Minnesota’s first Episcopal bishop: whoever threw a massive stone farthest would become the owner. Every year\, we celebrate Bishop Whipple’s historic win with a recreation of the event. Come and see if you are the parishioner who will win the stone throw this year. Many thanks to the Mueller family for organizing the Stone Throw.  \nAnd that’s not all! We are excited to announce that we will be serving homemade scones (probably just like the ones served to Mayor Head and Bishop Whipple) with coffee\, cider\, and hot chocolate. SUMMARY:Oasis Garden Clean Up
DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, October 27\, from noon to 2:00 pm\, Calvary youth will be pulling up the flowers in our Oasis garden to take them to the city compost. All adults are welcome to join them.
