DESCRIPTION:(aka Eat\, Compete\, and Dress Up) \nFall is in the air\, and it is time for Calvary’s annual Stone Throw. This tradition started with Bishop Whipple many millennia ago (or so the myth goes). Come and see if you are the parishioner who will throw the stone the farthest this year. There will be three contestant categories: Men\, Women\, and Children (under the age of 12). \nAnd that’s not all! We are excited to announce that we will be serving homemade scones with coffee\, cider\, and hot chocolate. \nBut wait\, there’s more! It is the Sunday before Halloween\, so we encourage you to wear your Halloween costume to eat\, compete\, and of course attend the 8:30 or 10:30 service. \nMany thanks to the Mueller family for organizing the Stone Throw. Elephants\, horses\, sloths\, parakeets and every bird\, hissing cockroaches\, tarantulas\, and every insect of every kind. God has made all of creation\, and given it into our care. So\, humans are invited too! \nPlease bring your pets (and pictures of shy pets and pets who have died)\, to the Oasis Garden on Sunday\, October 8 at 4:00 pm for their blessing. All of our collection at that service will be designated to Paws and Claws. This is a great service to bring your neighbors and friends – come let us celebrate God’s Beloved Community!

DESCRIPTION:The Oasis Garden planting is a long-standing tradition at Calvary. Each spring\, parishioners of all ages gather to plant and mulch the hundreds of flowers that help make our churchyard a welcoming oasis for our congregation\, for Mayo patients and staff\, and for all in the community. This year\, we’ll plant from 9:00 am to noon on Saturday\, May 20. No gardening skill is necessary\, and the needed tools will be available. DESCRIPTION:Calvary’s Fellowship Core cannot resist hosting another Happy Hour to celebrate International Buy a Priest a Beer Day! It only rolls around once a year\, and we are most fortunate that this year it is on a Friday. The first two Calvary Happy Hours were great TGIF successes\, and we are sure this one will be even better. We will meet at Beetle’s Bar and Grill\, located two blocks west of Saint Marys Hospital on 2nd Street\, SW\, on Friday\, September 9\, 4:30 – 6:30 pm. This is informal. Come when you can; stay for as long as you like. Popcorn and water are free. You can purchase other food and drinks. Mark your calendars now and join other Calvary parishioners in toasting our clergy!

SUMMARY:Picnic Church
DESCRIPTION:On the last Sunday of each month beginning in June\, Picnic Church! 4:30 p.m. on June 26\, July 31\, and August 28. We will gather in the Oasis Garden for a very simple\, come as you are\, service of Holy Eucharist. Readers will be invited out of the gathered congregation and participation from all ages will be encouraged. Bring a lawn chair to break bread together in the Eucharist\, and then stay to break bread together in a picnic! We will pull out our charcoal grill and have charcoal\, etc.\, available for whatever you bring\, and have water and lemonade there as well. Our Oasis Garden truly is a place of beauty and a perfect place for a summer picnic and games (we have games!) on a Sunday evening.  \nAll are welcome!
