SUMMARY:Help with a Meal at the San Jose Obrero Mission
DESCRIPTION:The San Jose Obrero Mission is a long-standing diocesan tradition of celebrating the eucharist and providing a meal with migrant workers in Montgomery\, MN.  Calvary and St. Luke’s will be collaborating on this mission again this year.  We need your help to make it a success like it has been in the past! \nWhen:\nSunday\, September 6\, 2026\nLeave St. Luke’s upper parking lot at 1:30 PM\nWe serve 2 meals (4:15 and 6:15)\nWe worship with the guests at either of the services between meals.\nWe clean up and head home. \nWe Need:\nIndividuals and families to join us on 9/6.\nDonations of whole fresh fruits\, desserts\, bottled water and beverages\, and cold side dishes. \nWhat to Know:\nPlease sign up to donate and volunteer. DESCRIPTION:Come one\, come all! The fifth annual Great Calvary Pie Bake-Off returns on September 20. All homemade pies baked by Calvary parishioners are welcome — there’s no age limit for bakers\, so let the baking begin! \nThe Greatest 2026 Pie Baker at Calvary will be crowned in the courtyard following the picnic\, and everyone will get to sample the delicious fruits of our bakers’ labor. \nThe Rules \n\nYour pie must be homemade by you — that’s the only rule!\nDeliver your pie to the kitchen by 10:00 AM\, with your name written on the bottom of the pie plate.\nJudging begins promptly at 10:00 AM to give our panel of celebrity judges time to finish before the 10:30 service — please don’t be late!\nGluten-free pies will be judged in their own separate category.

Join us in the courtyard (Brackenridge Hall in case of inclement weather) following the 10:30 service on September 20. \nWe’ll once again serve boxed lunches featuring sandwiches\, potato salad\, chips\, and an apple. Turkey\, ham\, and veggie sandwiches are served on croissants — when you sign up\, choose the gluten-free option if you’d like a GF croissant. \nWhile you picnic\, enjoy live music by Bob Schlief and homemade pie for dessert! \nBring a lawn chair for yourself\, and an extra to share if you’re able. \nCost & Donations\nEach boxed lunch costs $14. DESCRIPTION:This fall\, Calvary will offer a Zoom Bible study on Mondays from Oct 5 through Nov 23\, meeting from 07:00 PM–08:00 PM. The group will begin with a practical refresher on ways to study Scripture and then turn to the appointed readings from the Gospel according to Matthew for the Sundays ahead.
