SUMMARY:Calvary Scones\, Stones\, and Halloween Bones
DESCRIPTION:Calvary Scones\, Stones\, and Halloween Bones\naka Eat\, Compete\, and Dress Up\nIn The Courtyard \nFall is in the air\, and it is time for Calvary’s annual Stone Throw. Legend has it that ownership of Calvary’s corner lot rested on a bet made by George Head\, Rochester’s first mayor\, and Benjamin Whipple\, Minnesota’s first Episcopal Bishop: whoever threw a massive stone farthest would become the owner. Every year\, we celebrate Bishop Whipple’s historic win with a recreation of the event. Come and see if you are the parishioner who will win the stone throw this year. Many thanks to the Mueller family for organizing the Stone Throw.\n  \nAnd that’s not all! We are excited to announce that we will be serving homemade scones (just like the ones served to Mayor Head and Bishop Whipple) with coffee\, cider\, and hot chocolate. If you would like to contribute homemade scones\, please let Cindy Heins know. (507) 993-5824\, heins.cynthia@gmail.com.\n  \nBut wait\, there’s more! It is the Sunday before Halloween\, so we encourage you to wear your Halloween costume to eat\, compete\, and of course attend the 8:30 or 10:30 service.

SUMMARY:Packing Manna Bags
DESCRIPTION:Calvary Faith Formation has an exciting outreach opportunity coming up! In our Formation classes\, we have been learning about the Israelites’ journey through the wilderness and how God provided them with manna. When contemplating how to tie this lesson into contemporary life\, we decided to launch our Manna Bag service project! \nManna bags are large gallon ziplock bags filled with food and hygiene essentials. By keeping these in your car\, you can easily share a thoughtfully prepared bag with someone in need. On October 25th\, 2026 the kids will gather downstairs to assemble fifty manna bags. Each child will take one bag home\, a few will be left at church to distribute to unhoused individuals who visit Calvary\, and the rest will go to any parishioners who would like to keep one in their car to pass to a person in need. To support this project\, we created a sign-up sheet for items to include in the bags. Please click the following link to sign up for an item to donate. \n\nhttps://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B094AADAD2BA5FF2-66277507-manna \nThank you so much in advance for your generosity in supporting this project!
