DESCRIPTION:We begin Lent at Calvary with a Quiet Day on Saturday\, March 5\, with the theme of peace and a chance to explore through prayer\, scripture study and response\, journaling\, and discussion\, where our hearts are and where we hear God speaking to us and calling us to be people of peace. \nThe day begins at 9:00am in the Church\, and will continue until noon. There will be readings and time for quiet\, reading responses and journaling\, but come when you are able to be here and you will be invited into whatever we are doing at the time. Or\, stay for the whole morning and find a time of sabbath and rest in this holy space. Please bring your mask.

SUMMARY:Adult Formation: Orders of Ministry - The Lay Order
DESCRIPTION:Every Sunday through April 3\, we will gather from 10am – 10:50am inside the Church (you may bring in your coffee!) to learn about the Orders of Ministry and how all ministry orders work together to discern decisions and directions in The Episcopal Church. \nWe are all called by God to be ministers through our baptisms. Our session on March 6 will take a look at the first order of ministry\, the lay order. Three guest speakers will tell a bit of their spiritual journeys as strong lay ministers. We welcome Calvary parishioners Martha Mangan and John Winter\, along with Canon Karen Olson from the Episcopal Church in Minnesota. \nAll are invited to come and learn more about these folks and how they have felt called by God in their (paid) vocations and in their discretionary time of service. Bring your questions and open hearts and curiosity about how God might be calling you.

DESCRIPTION:As we begin our holy Lent together\, you are invited to a Lenten prayer series: “Being in Relationship with God” – on Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm to 7:30pm\, March 9 – April 6. We will meet in-person in Crawford Hall. Chili will be served at 6:00pm before the series begins. \nDuring this prayer series\, we will talk about our prayer lives\, hear from others about prayer\, and learn and practice a particular kind of prayer each week. \nThis week\, the Rev. SUMMARY:Adult Formation: Orders of Ministry - The Diaconate
DESCRIPTION:Every Sunday through April 3\, we will gather from 10am – 10:50am inside the Church (you may bring in your coffee!) to learn about the Orders of Ministry and how all ministry orders work together to discern decisions and directions in The Episcopal Church. \nIn this continuing Sunday morning Lenten series\, we welcome the Venerable Chip Whitacre as our speaker. Chip was recently appointed by Bishop Loya as Archdeacon for the east metro and southeast mission areas of the Episcopal Church in Minnesota\, including Rochester. Chip was ordained deacon in The Episcopal Church in 2013 and has served parishes\, the wider diocese\, and the community in many ways since then. All are welcome to learn from Chip about the Order of the Diaconate in The Episcopal Church.  In many if not most cases\, God calls people to the diaconate out of their immediate faith community\, and with the support of that community.  Chip will be our preacher at all services this Sunday as well as leading our Forum at 10:00am. We welcome Chip and his wife Lynne to Calvary. \nBring your questions and open hearts and curiosity about how God might be calling you.
