DESCRIPTION:This is one of two services each Sunday: at 8:30 am\, on the first and third Sundays of every month\, Calvary offers A Service of Morning Prayer. This beautiful\, ancient service consists of prayers\, canticles\, and scripture readings and is the traditional way of greeting the day in our Episcopal tradition. It is about 30 minutes long\, and readers will be invited out of the gathered congregation by the lay leaders. \nThe nursery\, staffed by two adults each Sunday who are Safeguarding God’s Children trained\, will be available 8:30 am – 11:15 am.

DESCRIPTION:We start the 2025 off with a bang – the No-Stress\, No-Rehearsal Epiphany Pageant! \nWhat does this mean? Well for those of you who dread having to drag your kids to yet another rehearsal\, this is the answer! Really\, there is no rehearsal. The kids just need to show up about 30 minutes before the pageant to collect their costumes and then follow the cues given in the script. There will be a live Baby Jesus\, many beautiful costumes\, and you really can’t miss seeing the camel! \nI do have a quick tip- especially for the little ones who might want to dress in sheep or cow costumes: make sure they have some cool clothes to wear underneath! We look forward to seeing you there!

SUMMARY:Adult Forum: Updates to Calvary Bylaws
DESCRIPTION:We will host a forum on January 19 after the 8:30 service in Crawford Hall to review proposed updates to Calvary’s bylaws. Our bylaws were last updated in 1991 and they are not aligned with the language and requirements in the current canons of the Episcopal Church in Minnesota. Further\, the ECMN implemented a requirement in 2001 that parishes in the dioceses review and make any needed changes to their bylaws at least every ten years. Calvary is not in compliance with this requirement.\n\nAt the forum\, we will present a summary of the process to update Calvary’s bylaws (which began in 2021) and review the draft of the proposed bylaws that was approved by the vestry at their December meeting.\n\nFind links to Calvary’s current bylaws and the proposed new bylaws in The Visitor.

DESCRIPTION:This is one of two services each Sunday: at 10:30 am\, Calvary offers a Rite II service of Holy Eucharist. Rite II uses more contemporary language and includes congregational and choral singing. The Motet Choir will lead our music. \nThe nursery\, staffed by two adults each Sunday who are Safeguarding God’s Children trained\, will be available 8:30 am – 11:15 am.

DESCRIPTION:The annual meeting of Calvary is on Sunday\, January 26\, beginning at 10:30 am in the church. The business portion of the meeting will be held within the context of the Eucharistic liturgy in the church. \n\nWe will not have the 8:30 service that day so the whole congregation can gather together at 10:30\, but coffee hour will be at the normal 9:15 time.
