On the weekends of August 1 and 2 and August 8 and 9, 3rd Avenue will be closing just west of Calvary. The Church will be fully accessible for Saturday events and Sunday services, with parking on the street on 3rd Ave and accessible parking on the west side of the church as usual. All surface lots and the West Lot will be open. A flagger will be posted to help all drivers turn around and go south/southeast to return to 2nd Street. The closures are to accommodate preparations that need to be made to the main Gonda entrance as Mayo gets ready for the closure of that entrance in early October.
During the week of August 3, the Mayo Construction teams will assemble the final tower crane at the Osman construction site. This crane will sit immediately behind Calvary, in the approximate area of the Sacristy, across the “street” that used to be 4th Avenue. The foundation for the crane was put in place a few months ago. The crane construction is anticipated to take all week, ending Saturday morning, August 8. During this time, Calvary staff will park on 3rd Avenue, and parking will be very limited for church volunteers or visitors. If you hope to park on 3rd Avenue during this time please call the church office first, or use alternate parking plans for that week only. The accessible entrance on the west side where the elevator is, will be open for anyone who needs it. However, please call the church office first so we can alert the project foreman, who will pause construction until you are safely inside the building. Thank you all for your continued patience with this construction work.
