The Noehren-Harris Pipe Organ at Calvary

Our pipe organ has served us well since its installation in 1974. The organ is, for the most part, in playable condition. However, we have looming expenses that we have worked around for several years, but these short term solutions will not last much longer.

Due to the climate in Rochester, with humid summers and dry winters, and despite our efforts to maintain a consistent humidity in the organ chambers, one of the main windchests has developed a crack that is getting worse. Because of this, we’ve needed to remove some pipes and, if not dealt with soon, more of the organ will be unusable. The crack is spreading, but we have received a quote for the repair of this windchest. 

The organ has two analog electronic voices as well. These are quite outdated and have given us some problems. With newer options and technologies available, we need to consider replacing these two electronic voices.
