Fall is in the air, and it is time for Calvary’s annual Stone Throw. Legend has it that ownership of Calvary’s corner lot rested on a bet made by George Head, Rochester’s first mayor, and Benjamin Whipple, Minnesota’s first Episcopal Bishop: whoever threw a massive stone farthest would become the owner. Every year, we celebrate Bishop Whipple’s historic win with a recreation of the event. Come and see if you are the parishioner who will win the stone throw this year. Many thanks to the Mueller family for organizing the Stone Throw.

And that’s not all! We are excited to announce that we will be serving homemade scones (just like the ones served to Mayor Head and Bishop Whipple) with coffee, cider, and hot chocolate.
